The home of Merchant Rubber Company as early as 1903, The Breithaupt Block has a rich history in downtown Kitchener. Together with Perimeter Development Corporation and Robertson Simmons Architects Inc., Zehr Levesque Inc. completed the renovations to this adaptive reuse project in the heart of the Warehouse District. The original industrial complex borders the Canadian National Railway and busy King Street, offering an excellent location for high-end commercial office space. The original brick-and-beam constructed complex has been modernized to give tenants open-air, loft-style spaces and two outdoor courtyards. The project was completed over the course of two years, and the building continues to have historical significance within the downtown core.
