St John's Anglican Church

Zehr Group is serving as General Contractor for the St. John’s Anglican Church expansion at 36 Henderson Street in Elora. The project is part of the church’s “Open Doors” initiative, a program focused on improving accessibility and expanding the facility’s ability to serve the broader community.

Working with the design team at SRM Architects, the project introduces a new connecting addition between the historic church and parish office buildings. The expansion will create a welcoming entrance lobby, a multi-purpose gathering hall for community programming, a commercial-grade kitchen, and fully accessible washrooms, supporting a wide range of church and community activities.

As part of construction, the project also involves the careful relocation and expansion of the church’s columbarium, adding new niches while creating a quiet reflective space for visitors and maintaining respectful stewardship of the site’s heritage elements.
