Located in the heart of Kitchener’s downtown core, 83 Ontario Street is a thoughtfully restored 1924 heritage building that blends historic character with contemporary mixed-use space. Zehr Group led the construction and extensive renovation of the property, carefully preserving key architectural elements while adapting the building for modern commercial and residential use.

The redevelopment introduced three street-level commercial units totaling approximately 4,400 square feet alongside 16 loft-style residential suites above. During construction, the team focused on highlighting the building’s historic character, maintaining features such as original hardwood floors, exposed brick walls, and heritage detailing while integrating updated building systems and modern finishes.

Today, Zehr Group also manages the property, providing property management and building maintenance services to support both the commercial tenants and residential residents. The project reflects Zehr Group’s continued commitment to downtown revitalization, heritage restoration, and long-term asset management within Kitchener’s urban core.
